This sash is hand-made on a loom using wool. This Sash is of the L’Assomption style sash made in L’Assomption, Quebec whose earliest know origins come from the 18th century.
It is the oldest know sash design. L’Assomption sashes were the most common sashes in western Canada until around 1850 when the Coventry sash became prominent.
