Métis Sash: Louis Riel Coventry, 1850-1900

Made by Etchiboy. Width: 8”, Length:142”
This sash is hand-made on a loom using sheep wool. Its design is of the Coventry style sash which Louis Riel wore circa 1860.
His original sash is currently on display at the Musée de Saint-Boniface Museum.
Coventry sashes were the most common from 1850-to the early 1900’s.
